Getting started is simple! Simply follow these 3 easy steps:

  2. Attend your consultation with our expert clinician and learn:
    • How our galvanic multi-probe method works;
    • How many hours of treatment you will need;
    • Length of the treatment period;
    • Length of each session;
    • Length of time between treatments;
    • Whether you will receive treatment with 16 or 32 probes;
  3. Get started with your first treatment: You’re prepped, ready and excited, so get on your way to your new, hair-free life!

DO

Drink plenty of water. Well-hydrated skin can:

  • Make the treatment more comfortable;
  • Improve the conduction of the electrical currents used in treatment.

DON’T

  • Consume foods and drinks that will dehydrate your skin including chocolate, caffeine and alcohol for 24-hrs before treatment;
  • Use retinoids for at least 1-week prior to treatment;
  • Shave for 3 – 5 days prior to treatment;
  • Bleach your unwanted hair for at least a week before treatment;
  • Sunbathe for at least 48 hrs before treatment.
DO
  • Cool your skin using an ice pack. Some people experience slight swelling and/or redness after electrolysis treatment, and this is normal. It is best to first use an ice pack for up to 20 minutes, and then apply Melfol Calm Balm to the treated area to soothe the skin.
  • Tip: You can store Melfol Calm Balm in your fridge so that it provides an extra cooling effect on the skin. Apply it liberally to your skin in the evening and allow it to dry, and then rinse it off the next morning. Continue using Melfol Calm Balm in between your electrolysis treatments until your skin has completely healed.
DON’T
  • Avoid rubbing, scratching and over-touching the treated area during the first 24 hours post-treatment;
  • Never pick scabs: Removing a scab prematurely can cause scars and increase the risk of infection;
  • Avoid excessive sweating immediately after treatment, such as during workouts or visiting a sauna, since this can trigger a build-up of bacteria and infection.
If you must remove your hair between appointments, then it is best to shave or clip it.

The length of electrolysis treatment sessions depends on hair growth density and the size of the area to be treated. Typically, an electrolysis treatment session can last from 15 minutes to one hour.
